Car died while driving home at the mall a little while about a couple miles before it died it started acting like it was under idling. like it wanted to shut off it shut off once and i got it to start again but while i was driving and it shut off it wouldnt start again. the engine turns over but there is no spark coming out of the spark plug cables because i took a screw driver and checked if it would ark on the engine. I also changed the coil pack and same thing. I dont know what would make the coil pack not spark someone told me the crank position sensor so im going to buy one but i dont know where it is on the engine. if there is anything else that anyone can think of to make this happen please lemme know I got to get this car off the side of the road .,

Anyway, your cam or crank position sensor more than likely took a shit on you. Did you check/scan for any codes?

I bet its the Cam sensor, but it very well could be the Crank as well.

Your not getting spark to the coilpack because it goes
Crank->Cam->Coil.

man its allways something new .my shit after install wont start it said on the obd 2 scanner cam sensor i put the new one on im gettin 4.9v and 8.9v and the car still wont start

what year is the the car maybe your computer took a shit

Check next to the EGR pipes for melt wires, check engine fuse
Check that your coil and cam don't use the same type of plug... Someone around here mixed those plugs once... I'm not telling who :p. if still no start check a friend if u have any that can lend u a same year same type Power train Control Module(PCM(the engine compartment computer))

it's basically PCM or Crankshaft / camshaft sensor

(speaking in self experience, if someone care to correct me do so )

I went to change the crank pos sensor and it broke off in the engine so i drilled it out and baught a new one but the new one had a different plug on it i was confused then i went to everyone around looking for a different sensor yesterday and everyone had the same thing. Turns out to be that they had a recall on the plug that plugs into the factory sensor ;[ So i got to the dealer and they sell me a plug with a bunch of wires in it extras im guessing cause its a 3 wire plug but to use this plug i have to cut off the old one and crimp in the new one . Came with a couple heat shrink wrap tubes too. the thing is all the wires they gave me are all the same color and i dont know what matches up to the factory wires and i cant find a diagram for it anywhere ;[[[
