First I would like to thank everyone that tried to help me with my idling problem, (still haven't got that fixed). But now I have a rattling noise under the hood, and I'm not sure its the rockers or not, but I can only hear it when I'm driving and it only does it when I'm speeding up and cruising, weather its at 30 or 80 it doesn't matter. As long as I'm giving the car gas it makes this noise, and as soon as I let off it goes away. If I hard accelerate it doesn't seem to make the noise, and it gets faster if I slowly speed up consistant with the engine reving up. Also the car is slugish, not chugging but considerable lack of pep, the motor seems strong put its like I'm pulling a trailer. I've checked all the obvious stuff heat shields, pulleys, if I rev the engine at the throttle body I can hear some noise from the lifters/rockers, but it doesn't seem to sound the same, but then again I'm driving and I have a kind of loud exhust. Again thank you very much for your help.

your spinnng a bearing
drain the oil and filter it for metal particals.
pull off the VC and look in there for metal shavings as well.

put it off and engine goes boom!

Well thats good news and bad news all at once isn't it. I'm a pool and spa service tech. so the good news is in the winter I'll have plenty of time to work on a rebuild for the turbo I planned on in the summer, bad part is little work=little money, I planned on saving during the summer for everything I needed, but its still winter and I need the car. So I'll have to research what motors I can just swap/ drop in at minimal cost. (Anyone have a cheap one lying around?) Just to keep the car running for awhile. The sound seems to be up top behind the pass. airbag, with the other problems I'm having with it I was thinking a toasted valve. Which it can still be since I haven't torn the VC off to see. I changed the oil and we checked the oil and there wasn't any metal flakes in it, or on the magnetic drain plug, so I guess thats a good thing.

Well, its been confirmed its a spun bearing,I took it to a shop just to check because thats the only way to know 100% what a noise is because its hard to diagnose a noise that none of you have heard and has just been discribed. Have any of you guys ever seen one of those rebuild DVDs that are on ebay for like $20? Are they any good? Do they really help? I have alot of experiance working on cars, like removing and installing engines and trans. but I've never rebuilt one so I'm thinking it would at least help with the visual explanations that you really can't get from the Haynes manuals. What do you guys think? Again thank you for all the help, I really appreciate it, expecially since i don't know any of you and you were still willing to help. I live in maryland and I find that people around here aren't really friendly (not like in North Carolina, I have alot of family from there) and are more into seeing other people fail at stuff, then to help. your on the right track with the manual, eventhough they dont have a step by step guide there still invaluable.

dont buy the DVD, follow this and you'll have all the info you need.

I found that and I'm planning to print it out to study it thoroughly study it and study it some more. I just wanted to get the video for another way to study and hoping that when he said "do this" or "check this" there it would be shown right there and then kinda like hands on of sorts, for $20 its not like its that bad of a loss, it can't hurt to get more info. right? Just to clarify for myself the 4 cylinder Avengers are the exact same engine as I have?? Head, block, everything??? I can get one for $150 at the local u pick, u pull, a friend said they have a couple, but I haven't actually ever seen an Avenger engine bay and the pictures I've seen don't give me the best idea. As one thing that you guys have said time and time again "plan ahead, for what goals I want for the car" if its possiable to reach 500 horses, then thats what I want my goal to be. I'm pulling my Nissan Pathy out of its winter sleep early so I won't be so rushed to just throw the motor together, I'm just going to search, research, search some more, and plan twice, and do once, then with my bad luck, break it again and start over!!
