the stock aribox is restrictive. an open element filter will suck more air and get the engine more air.

a good mod. dont spend more than that on an intake tho. everything is the same except for a cai and short ram. the pic u posted is a short ram.
the expensive ones are so expensive because you are paying for a brand name. kinda like a porsche boxter (slo but has a porsche symbol on it, so they charge 50k for it)

a cai-cold air intake- supposedly sucks colder air (not the air chillen by the engine that's hot).

colder air is more dense creating a better burn inside the cylinder.

go for it, an intake was my first mod.
