ok, everyone asks me whats the difference between GS,RS,GST, and GSX. what does the RS and GS stand for? and what does the bump on the factory hood for, looks? why did chrylser get invalved with mitsubishi(the story), the 420a and the 4g63? and what engine is better? i love my eclipse and i know a lot about cars but these are the things i want to know... thanks

totaleclipse_05, what's the hump called? Like a technical term for it. I ran across it a while back but don't remember for sure what it called. I know that it's there to clear the timing belt on a 4G63 but don't remember for sure what it's called.

I always thought it was the "Power Hump" as well. I didn't think there was an official word for it.

I dont think there IS an OFFICIAL term, we'd have to contact the MITSU/Chrysler/EAGLE designers and ask, but as far as I know they called it the power hump aswell
As for Convex/Concave, it all really depends on what perspective you are looking at it, now the subject at hand being 2gnts... and the hood always being open I'de beg to differ
