Ok i refer to this board all the time when i get stuck or have a question usually can figure it out in search. Well here is my problem i built my bottom end over the winter and put custom turbo kit on car. Well problem is car is not starting and oil is not getting to turbo so afraid to keep cranking when oil not getting to my turbo.

Timing on motor is perfect checked it a million times, has new oil pump an what not when did build, has spark, and is getting fuel.

As far as oil feel i hooked up oil feed correctly going to pull off and make sure its not clogged somehow but anyone have any ideas on what it could be.

Thanks in advance.

How long did you crank it?

And you know there's no oil getting to the turbo because you've been cranking with the oil feed line disconnected from the CHRA, right? Did you prime the oil pump prior to cranking?

Before you go ripping the engine apart again, you might disconnect your feed line from it's source and see if you get any oil at that location. Where are you tapping for oil?

I had to crank for ~5 minutes solid to get oil to the turbo on my last build.

If you have spark and you have fuel, try cracking the throttle just a tad while cranking. Maybe the IAC is confused.

The oil issue and the engine not started may not be related.

If you are getting spark then the sensors are communication with the ECU. It could be the coil if you are checking the spark at the connector. I always keep an extra one around just in case.

Oil tubes are not perfect as well. I had an issue with a cracked oil tube that I had to get welded.

Which MSD coil pack do you have, the round pin or flat pin? You should have the 96 round pin.

I would doubt you could ruin a turbo by trying to start the car unless you had a fuel issue where you were getting gas in the turbo.

If the car started and then you didn't have any oil pressure I would be worried.

Wrong. Turbo's rely on bearings, same as an engine. No lubicration = very bad results.

And question, how and the hell would you get gasoline in a turbocharger? Do you have any idea what your talking about, lol?

If you are just trying to start an engine then the turbo wouldn't need to turn. If it isn't starting then how could it hurt the turbo? If you start the engine then it would need to have oil once it is running.

I had a electrical short in my TPS one time that filled my cylinders, intake manifold and ran down my piping and eventually got into my turbo as I tried to start the vehicle. Hence destoying all the seals in my turbo.

I don't know everything about the 420a but with over a thousand personal hours into my build I do know what has happened from my past experiences. This forum has greatly aided me in my build and I try to help out where I can.

well i should hopefully have something figured out this weekend been busy at work so going to be getting to it this weekend. Yeah in theory doesnt matter when car not starting but if it does start and no oil to turbo wont help it any. See no reason to ruin brand new turbo. And msd isnt problem i ran it on my high compression motor, so ill sit down and figure it out might hook up a reader maybe a sensor or relay is bad. Thanks for input guys ill keep you posted.
