would it be safe/practical to connect the oil cooler lines to the oil line that comes out from under the turbo i have -8an fittings on on the turbo and one on the pan. I can't find a pancake fitting that does drop the oil filter 2 inches below the oil pan

the drain out of the turbo is gravity
there isnt a way for it to build enough pressure to get good flow through a cooler. if you do pressurise the return line you risk blowing your turbo seals.
best results are from a pressurised source, unfortunatly for us that means a sandwich adapter. if your concerned with the filter hanging down, look into combining this with a remote mount for the filter.

Another option when using the sandwich adapter is to go with a smaller size oil filter. I have read other people using them, so try a search and see what comes up.

There are adapters that take place of the oil filter and allow you to relocate the filter to a different location. You can use a relocation kit combined with a oil cooler to achieve what you want to do.

It will be costly but its an option. Another option is to install a small cooler on your Oil feedline for the turbo. Not as good but it will cool the oil to the turbo.
