you know the 'beep' that you get when you leave your lights on and take the key out of the ignition? I don't get that beep any more. it's been this way for years now, but i'm motivated to go ahead and fix it, because i keep killing batteries. (5 batteries in the last 2 years, 3 of them were optimas).
i don't even know where to begin diagnosing this problem. where are the wires? where is the speaker that makes the chime? is there a fuse i'm just forgetting to check?
my gauge cluster lights are out too, if that makes any difference. they are indiglos, and they haven't illuminated in a couple of years, making night driving a pain in the ass. i think the power module that came with the gauges is the culprit, but I thought that may have something to do with the headlight warning chime as well...
any thoughts? I don't see a single post about this issue anywhere.

It might be the door switches in the doors. Does your interior lights or the door ajar light on the cluster light up when you open the door? If not, that would be your problem.

Not sure, when mine went out a while back, I just made a WTB thread and got both for $10 shipped. There are a few people with parts cars right now getting rid of stuff, pm them.
