Hey, what's up everybody. I am pretty new to working on my DSM so I was hoping for a pointer. I bought an oil psi gauge and tried to find the stock sending unit to switch it out but had no luck. Can anyone tell me where it's at? My Chilton says its right next to the oil filter, but I didn't see anything that looked like a sending unit anywhere.

It's not exactly in the middle of the block. If you are underneath the car looking up, it's going to be to the left side (driver-side) of the block with a harness plugged into it.
BTW, welcome to the site. Try to get used to using the search feature of the site as you could have figured out this answer rather quickly than having to make a post and wait until someone responds. I bet every question you have about your car has been asked already and you just need to find it.

I used a sandwich plate oil filter adapter. It sits in between the engine block and the filter and you can screw the sensor sending unit into it... also fuel lines to an inter cooler down the road. It cost me 26 bucks. Maybe thats cheating but it was pretty damn easy. Good luck.

I wouldn't really recommend those for a pressure gauge, maybe for a temperature gauge it would work fine. I am not for sure about this, but I don't think you will get the same pressure reading from using this plate and actually tee-ing off the block.

If you unhook the stock switch from the harness, the light won't stay lit.
