i know it is very weird
i can't open the Engine oil filler cap. i turn it and it just didnt' come off.
i know i have to press it down and turn (o-clockwise).
**it just didn't come off**
is that any tricks that can make it easier to be opened

First of all, not even close to the right forum for this question.

Second, if the cap cannot be removed with hand power, go out, buy a new one, then remove the old one with vice grips/pipe wrench or anything that can give you a mechanical advantage.

Not a gas cap. No need to push in. Are you saying that you are spinning it around and it's not coming out or you can't get it to spin?

Lefty loosey - Righty tighty

I don't believe that you have to press down on the oil filler cap to loosen it. While tightening it by turning it clockwise, the cap will "break-away" so that it isn't overtightened.

For real. Give that a go. Dont be embarassed or afraid to ask any questions at all about your car. Make sure you check the "things we've seen before" forum and try to do a few searches before you post though.


I think anybody who works on their car should have a strap-wrench set. So handy.
