#118551, "What's your engine pull time?"

Well this week was fun. I ripped out 2 420a motors and installed one in 14 1/2 hrs. Is that good timing?

I can't believe how smooth and easy it is to install a 420a. I mean all the sensors have there own holes...nothing interchanges.

If anyone needs help pulling or installing there motor, I'm on AIM all the time and am willing to help anyone.

There was only one issue I had and once I measured the bolt holes on the clutch I realized my issue. The bolt hole on the flywheel and clutch are not square one measurement is 6 1/2 inches while the others are 6 inches. I had to just rotate the clutch a few times to realize.

Also you DO NOT NEED to pull off the crank pulley I was reading somewhere on here that you need to pull it...I didn't and everything went smooth...

I wish I had a camera, I lost mine about two days ago, just have no clue as to where it is. If anyone needs parts off a 2gnt let me know I will gladly trade for a camera.

So now I have 3 running 2gnt's and 3 parts cars...for a total of 6.

I'm thinking of making a write up for the engine pull for the wiki...but I"m really not sure how to use it yet...If anyone is willing to show me I am willing to do a complete write up.

Thanks 2gnt for being the cool site that this is .... and like I said if anyone needs help let me know.

I think i remember seeing a write up a couple years back, but it always helps to see different perspectives. Someday ill be swapping my engine so i know for sure i'd use it!

You only need to pull that if you going to mess around with the engine when its still in the bay.

In any case congrats on the quick pull, faster than what I could do.

I pulled mine in 4 hours dicking around while enjoying some cold Miller Lite. It went back into the car in about 2 hours about a month later. Then it took another 3 hours to hook everything up. I should really stop drinking while working on the car.

Awesome work, and YES please make that write up with any tips you may have.

I need to pull an engine from one my 2g's this coming month, and I could use any advice you have to offer.

To make a wiki, sign in to the main site and then locate the page where you want your wiki linked to (maybe under the 2GNT | Maintenance page). Edit that page with this:

(double square brackets) Pulling the 420a (double square brackets)
(square bracket) i (square bracket) Need to pull the motor? Here's how to do it quickly (square bracket) /i (square bracket)

When you save that change, the wiki generates the blank page at the new link. Then go to that new page and "change content" - and then put up your info.

Guess you don't have pics, but if you did, just use image tags around them.

I pulled my old motor and installed my new motor and had the car driving all in a weekend... got the old motor out and the new motor in the same day, the next day I hooked everything up and bled the clutch and took her for a drive that evening!
