My Power steering was acting up so i haven't had the belt on for months. Well, today it's 110 degrees out. My fucking amp goes into protection if i bump it hard for more than 10 minutes and i'm sweat-staining my seats. I'm not having fun.

Need the belt length to run just A/C, bypassing the tensioner with a stock crankshaft pulley.

Yes, i searched. I've been searching for about an hour now. All i can find is running the power steering without ac or the belt length to bypass the tensioner to run both ps/ac.

Really, my balls are sweating away. Hurry before i lose the ability to procreate!!!!!

Goodnight sweetheart...yes its time to go...bum bum bum bum bum...good night sweetheart yes I am one little a$$hole......bum bum bum bum....

just take a piece of string or something similar and wrap it around the two pulleys and measure it. Go to an auto parts store and ask for a belt that long with *x* amount of grooves. (I forget how many grooves there are). Easy enough.

5 grooves, only problem will be that you have no way to tension it.

What if i were to undo the compressor completely, wrap the belt around the crank pulley and compressor and then muscle/bolt the compressor into place? Hmm?

I know somebody on the forum has to be running this setup and has a good bit of tension on their belt.

The fan helps.

Hell, if this guy who wants to buy the park ave buys it, i'm going to get this 240sx i've had my eye on for a few days. Ice cold ac and the transmission shifts like budda. It sucks using my project as a dd.

ummm, the ac compressor is hard bracketed to the block, there's no room to move it closer to the crank pulley. maybe if you modify the tensioner pulley to hold a grooved pulley you could make it work that way? emoji:

I think you're on to something.

I Could either run two big washer-type deals on either side of the tensioner OR i could put in a 5 grooved pulley. Since the grooves will probably tear up a belt with ps/ac, i'll opt for the washers to keep the belt from flying off and breaking shit. I'm far too lazy to source a grooved pulley of proper size anyway. Too hot.

Thanks.

My to-do list is a freakin billion miles long.....lol.

wow sounds about just as difficult as fixxing the power steering. bypass the tensioner and use the power steering pump as a tensioner on a 490K5 belt.

You're absolutely right. Since i'm afraid i'm going to pass out from heat stroke behind the wheel one of these days, i'm bumping getting a new belt, hoses for the ps and bearings for both pulleys a top priority. My ac blew ice cold for the single day i used it. emoji

uh, the washers will probably push out the pully from the bracket and misalign the belt, usually resulting in a shredded/jumping belt
