I am a new member to 2gnt and i have a 1995 eclipse gs with some work done to it. I looked into the other topics to try not to repost and old situation but i could not find a situation similar to mine. About 5 months ago i hydrolocked my engine frying my starter and filling the engine. i replaced the starter and took all the water out of the engine. It worked fine for about a week then the idle went crazy sitting at 2000rpms at stand still and bogging down when applying the throttle. it did that for about a month and then it just went away however a new problem occured as i could not go above 3700 rpms like it has a limiter on it. My buddy said it just needed to dry out a bit and i might have fried sum sensors. I let it sit for a few days with the hood open hoping it would do so, started it up again and same thing was happening. I took it to autozone and had them hook up the scanner to it and it gave me a code for the TPS sensor and the MAP sensor, i replaced both of them and its still coming up in the codes. I tried to live with it for a while but its bugging the hell out of me ecspecially cause i cant do over 80mph or go to the track on weekends to have fun . the codes that it is reading now are P0122 (TPS/Pedal pos. sensor circuit low input) P1297 (manf.fuel/air metering) and P0121 (TPS/Pedal po. sensor a CKT range/perf.) Its not an automatic so i dont think it would go into safe mode or whichever its called that limits the rpms. I just really dont want to go to the dealership and have to pay a bunch of money to get it fixed if there was an easier way. One other thing to add as well is the idle is exactly where it should be now but sometimes when im sitting at a light or such it gets bogged out like it used to and i have to play with the throttle to keep it from stalling out, ive gotten pretty good at it but its still annoying, it has the tendencey to stall when i first take off and it has happened in some intersections almost getting me hit. Any help would be much appreciated! Thank You.
um, wow, that's quite a lot of info to try and absorb in one semi-hysterical paragraph. have you tried resetting the ecu to clear the codes? it might be stuck in a "safe mode" loop from running bad for so long.
were you able to go over 3500 rpms after changing the sensors?
you said you hydrolocked the engine, have you done compression or leakdown tests?

I cleared the codes with removing the battery cables then they came back after a little while of running it so i hooked up a scan tool to it and did it that way but they still came back and i had a compression test done on it after everything and it all checked out fine.
