Went to start my car didn't start. Popped the clutch thinking i left parking lights on. When it started i saw the battery CEL come on. I got to where i was going tried to start it, nothing not even the started extended. I checked the fuses everythings good. When I put the key to the on position the radio went on and everything was normal wen i went to start it everything cut off. I think its the alternator but posting just to be sure. Lemme know your thoughts. If it is I would like to know if there is a bigger alternator that I can use of another engine to get more amps. since I will be junkyarding another alternator.

if everything works in when you firt turn the key but then blanks when you try and start it, its not an alternator issue.
somthing is causing a short
check your grounding straps for your engine / batt / manifold deffinatly have your battery load tested remove your battery terminals and thuroghly clean them check the conectors to the starter that 1) there all conected 2) there is no burn through from the harness rubbing on the egr pipe check the lower plug and main wires for your alternator too

most auto parts places sell corrosion inhibitor, it's a buck for a gel packet or $5 for a spray. gold plated terminals won't corrode at all but they're a couple bucks more. cut open a small length of your wire, if the corrosion is down in the wire that can be part of the issue as well, you can't see it but any corrosion that's there will cause it to come back that much quicker, if the corrosion goes back farther than an inch or 2 just replace the whole wire
