Hey guys, been a while since I made a post, but I have a little problem and wanted some opinions.

Ever since I got my eclipse back up and running, it runs like crap for the first 2-3 minutes on a cold-start. Rough idle, seems like its getting flooded. I give it gas and it almost stalls out. Also once the car goes out of open loop mode, I am able to rev it without the stalling. Once I drive it, it sputters and almost stalls for like the first pull onto the road. Once that happens I am usually good to go and it runs perfectly fine. I did some searching around and found that it may be my coolant temperature sensor (even though I bought a brand new one before I got it up and running). I am going to measure the resistance across the two wires here pretty soon to make sure they are reading right. Also, my fan kicks on and stays on once the gauge cluster needle hits the very bottom line of gauge. Would that have something to do with a bad coolant sensor? If so, I am going to go to the dealer this time and get a sensor instead of O'Reilly's.

Any other possibilities someone can think of? I swapped my ECU for a different one because I thought I was going to part out the eclipse before I fixed it so could a bad ECU be causing this too?

OK, I didn't know which one to measure so I did both haha. Measured the resistance across the sensors leads and got 2.57k ohms and the wiring I got 8.39k ohms. Anyone know if these are correct?

I'd start by checking if you have a bubble in the coolant, when it's cold pull the cap off. if it's not full to the top add some fluid and run it till the engine reaches operating temp, it should bubble for a few seconds to a minute depending on how much air was in the system. once everythings bubbled out replace the cap and make sure the reservoir is full.

I have bled the system out a couple times now so I don't think that is the problem.

Well guys, O'Reillys sold me the wrong (or bad) coolant sensor. It had the correct harness plug, but the resistance reading was way off. Bought a new one from Napa today and it started up and idled perfectly. Wish I would have done this a lot sooner haha.
