My Haynes manual only lists the modules for the turbo and V6 models. I have been messing with my car for 6 months now as it has the fun problem of starting and then dieing. I have narrowed it down because I tested my connection to my coilpack and it is getting power and signal for about a second while cranking the engine (it does start for a second).
I have replaced my ASD/MFI relay, tested coilpack itself, different ECU, cam sensor replacement, crank sensor replacement, swapped fuel pumps, etc. I am at a loss as to what the problem is and this is about my last ditch effort by replacing the ignition control module. So, where is it??

The GS doesnt have one. The spark is controlled by the ECU.

Ok, I was wondering that because I had some people that have worked on DSMs tell me to check that. I guess there were thinking about the turbo models. Do any of you guys have any other suggestions as to what to check? I mean is there a sensor that will cause the signal and power to get cut to the coilpack? I have checked and changed all obvious things. I am about ready to give up!

If the crank and the cam sensor are not grooving then the ecu will cut power to the coil.

I know you said you already replaced them but that is what happens. It will give current and then stop if they aren't jiving.

I had an issue one time with bad grounds that produced the same problem when I did my battery relocation.

get a chiltons manual. the haynes is fairly useless for the 2GNT.
