We'll i ordered a 25ft roll of blck header wrap, but the more I look into it the less I wanna do it. I don't want my header to rust off, or any part of my exhaust for that matter. Is there any other application for it that won't have horrible side effects? (I cant/dont wanna use it on my intake since I'm putting a K&N on my stock tube) Thanks in advance fellas' emoji

No other immediate applications that I can see... Just install it on your headers, but be sure to use something like high-temp silicone spray to repel moisture and prevent rust. If you install the wrap properly, you won't have any problems.

I use it on my upper radiator hose because it almost touches my turbo. I also use it on my hard lower radiator hose underneathe. I do have it wrapped from my downpipe to the cat.

Obviously you never used this before.

It has fibers in it that like to get in your skin.

I was playing with the idea of making a custom heat shield by sandwiching it between two sheets of metal mesh, what do you guys think?

I second.

JUst do what mreigle did Use the header wrap on your downpipe.

Seems like your trying to cooldown your engine. I think this was brought up at one time from an old thread. The engine would still give off heat anyway with/without the wrap.

You could save up an buy a Vader Hood and some would tell you header looks kinda fugly after awhile its been on

There is definitely maintenance with header wrap. I replace mine a couple times a year for show quality. The upper radiator hose I rewrap before any show.

If you have the money you could buy an EVO style hood to cool things down. From what I've read (from non-bias EVO articles too) is they are about the best hood you can buy for cool air in/warm air out. personally, I don't use heat wrap.

Oh, i know. Just a pinch of sarcasm.

We have fiberglass insulation in our house. My brother fell through my ceiling once and that shit was everywhere. Naturally, i was itching and itching and itching for days....... Same thing happened when i fixed a friend's front bumper and didn't wear long sleeves....

I just installed it on my RS-T, had to spray a hi-temp silicone coating… word to the wish you could wet the wrap and it will be a lot easier to install, wear a long sleeve an gloves I didn’t and I wish I did!!! I recommend this product, when I open my hood I don’t feel that all the heat that I did before.

What I've decided to do was, spray the header with a layer of Copper-Spray-A-Gasket, let it turn gunmetal, then wrap it, that should give me a little more rust protection, and I'll definitely change it or take it off every once in a while.
