#117131, "Reverse lights on when in drive"

Like the title says, the reverse lights will turn on whenever i put the car into drive, 2, and L. For now I just unplugged both of the reverse lights so they wont be on all the time. Ive tried using the search but couldnt find this problem. Does anyone know what is wrong with it? Could it be the reverse light switch that other people are having problems with or something else?
P.S. I am a 99 nonturbo automatic.

Maybe your switch is stuck in the "on" position because of problems with the contact ball bearing.

It's also possible that the two wires are touching somewhere, completing the circut.

I know nothing about the automatic tranny so i could be just blowing some MT smoke up your ass. Maybe wait for somebody else to chime in...

Well, i went and hooked the reverse lights back up today, and now they work normally. So i think there was snow or dirt that got up on this switch and was preventing it from moving out of the on position, thats my theory anyway.
