OK well here is my current situation. I was driving my Eclipse on base in late 05 and i noticed it was getting kinda of sluggishin the throttle responce. Then the gauges started goin nuts and i noticed a lot of steam coming from under the hood. Well I come to a stop and the car dies. I try to turn it back on and the car turns over but with every crank it got slower. There was also a puddle of antifreeze under the car and a trail for a good amount of distance behidn the car. well it would never start again so now the car has been sitting in my driveway and I am tired of not being able to drive it. Any things I should be on the look out for. Or anything that I need to replace while I have it torn apart cleaning it up? Thanks in advance for any advice!

Could you tell where the antifreeze was coming from? I had overheating and a radiator blow out on me and I experienced the same issues you explained. I ended up choosing a full rebuild as compared to just addressing the problem issue alone. My head ended up being warped, so just getting a new radiator would've been just a band-aid. Obviously money comes into play, however, if you can afford it, do it right. Good Luck.

I bet its your head gasket, if your cars not starting after you came to a stop. The compression is just escaping through the gasket. I replaced my head gasket when I boosted my car so I wouldn't know where to look. Do a compression test and if two cylinders next to each other have low compression, its more then likely your head gasket.
