How can you check them w/o hooking them up to plugs and a coil. I ask this b/c I got some free nology wires from a friend for my ladys neon. I threw them in there and the car ran worse. He said that they never worked right for him. Anyway, I want to make sure that the wires are good or maybe I'm a dumbshit that can't push hard enough to get the wires to seat on the plug/coil. I learned how to check wires w/ a multi-meter back in my fresh yr of colloge but nothing is ringing a bell. I'm thinking of checking number of ohms? anybody?

Just use the multi-meter to check the resistance from one end to another. I believe that Accel wire is 150 ohms per foot...no where near a foot of wire there. If you don't feel the wire boots clicking onto the plugs/coil, you can use a pair of pliars and squeaze them a little to tighten up the metal connector on the inside of the boot. Be careful, too much and your screwed.
