When i took mine apart o had the same problem. There was a bolt next to where the oil filter goes that i overlooked. Came right off after that.

After removing all of the bedplate bolts, use a rubber mallet and try to loosen the bedplate from the block by smacking it carefully.

i could have sworn you couldnt change the main bearings without removing the crank since the bearings are keyed. and you cant get the crank out without removing the pully, timing sprokett and oil pump. plus you have to undo the crank from the transmission.

if your going through the trouble to get to the main bearings, id have the crank atleast polished back up.
if the mains were in fact the cause then i can bet you that the crank journals have some scuffs, and may possibly ruin the new set your putting in.

I don't think you can remove it with it still in the car - there's front oil pump bolt that run into it so you have to tear the whole front end down

Thank you everybody for your help and sugestions and to clairafy you can take the bedplate off with the engine still in and let me tell you what a b**ch it is go the extra steps and pull the engine trust me its worth the extra time it will save you lots of headachs and loss of hair lol... But i go through all the trouble and guess what the mains are perfectly fine look great so that means it is rod bearings all that work for nothing.... Thank you once agian everybody..
