I put a 97 talon esi motor into my eclipse to get it running while i turbo my other motor. I was doing some finishing touches and i started it and it ran great. Bled the brakes and had good pressure when the car was off. But when i started it and attempted to press the brakes, the pedal went to the floor and the engine started to chug and proceded to turn off. It did this everytime i tried to press the brakes when the car is on. The brake booster hose is connected to the manifold and no lines leak. Any idea wtf is up???

Another thing is where the hell is my fpr??? Usually its on the passenger side of the fuel rail but when i tried to connect my vacuum hose to it i was greeted with a fuel pressure port instead. Any ideas??

Lastly(sorry for the incredibly long post), when i tried to hook up the fuel excess hose(not sure of its technical name so i tried to name it accordinglu emoji it goes on the drivers side end of the fuel rail near the fuel line hookup.) there was no nipple for it. I dont know where the hell that is either. Im honestly about to swap fuel rails soon to ease my stress but wanted to see if the gods here can help me out.

Sorry again for the long text. The last promblems with the fuel rail dont bother me as much as the brake promblem so if you guys can help me out that would be greatly appreciated. If it helps my car is 95 Eclispe RS.

That's the answer. The 95 fuel rail that you are used to has the fpr on the end of the rail and a return line back to the tank. On the 96+ cars, the fpr is back at the gas tank(i believe). I don't think the 96+ rails have a return line. As far as the brakes, did you bleed beginning with the wheel furthest from the master cylinder working your way in?

Like said above, if your car is a 95 then youll have to swap out the fuel rails for your old one. I ran into this problem with my brothers car not to long ago. Its not really hard just a tight squeeze to get to the bolts. Shouldnt take more than 30 minutes.

Thanks for the info guys. I figured out my promblem too with the brakes. (yes i did bleed them correctly!) But there is still air in the line and i need to bleed them more. What happens is the brake booster tries to compensate for the lack of fluid in the lines and sucks in a shit load of vacuum which in return screws with your sensors on the intake manifold since most of the vacuum is being sucked out by the brake booster. So, to those of you of might encounter this promblem or had their car sitting in one spot with all the fluid out, bleed em till you bleed or you'll encounter the same promblem as i did.
