My car is all stock now and I want to have dat loud exhaust everyone has, but I want the increase in HP too. So what is the best exhaust for my 99 Eclipse GS? I heard dat if I get over 3 inch piping I will loose power instead of gain since I dont have turbo, dat tru?

Our stock piping is plenty good....really all you need is a muffler. We have the same piping, just different mufflers as a GST, so that should tell you that our piping can handle 200hp. Unless you plan on going turbo or spraying I would suggest saving that extra $200-300 and buying the AFX Underdrive pulley kit.

Im going the pacestter/aftermarket muffler route myself. The muffler is already here and all Im waiting on is the catback (which should be here tomorrow). I would say go that route if you plan on modding the car with more than an intake and UDP

I disagree about stock exhaust. The GS-T muffler helps but is not as good as an after market. It feels to me like I am already pulling in too much air for my 2" exhaust. 2.5" is a good diameter unless you are really pushing power.

And since I didn't actually answer the original question... I am going weth Borla when I get mine done. (should be once the weather is nicer) BUt a custome set up works well too as long as you get mandral bent piping and a good muffler, and if going custom I would suggest some form of resonator unless you like it really loud... depending on muffler too.

If you plan to stay all motor, then I'd suggest just upgrading to the stock 2G GS-T exhaust. It sounds better than the NT version, and it flows well enough. Plus, you won't gain much hp (1-2whp at most) for $400-$600. Imagine all the different toys you could get with that mone emoji

However, if you still want to go with an aftermarket system, I'd recommend the Greddy EVO. It looks good, and it gives off a nice deep tone--not tinny like some other exhausts.

Pacesetter catback = great deal ($160) on mandrel bent piping that fits perfectly on an eclipse.

I agree that the muffler is crap but you just have to cut it off and weld a new one on there.
