#116775, "Can I remove a fitting on the High side of the A/C compressor?"
I've started working on my old eclipse again and decided to build a 3" downpipe. I would get the clearance I need if I could remove a fitting on the A/C compressor where the high side line meets the compressor. It looks like a service fitting of some sort that sticks out a bit. It would be great if I can just plug it. The A/C hasn't blown cold since 2000, so I'm not worried about recharging it if "by accident" I discharge the system.

why not pull the AC compressor, and lines out. it takes all of 30 mins, and will drop a good 15-20 lbs off the front of your car easily. i'm almost 80% sure you can still use the PS, with a different belt, if you remove the AC compressor.
** Current status: 9 bent valves. and it only had 6,000 miles on it. i hope the replacement goes well. **
Lots of expensive parts, and still slow! Oh wait, it has to run to go fast.
