This seems to be too good to be true. The first and second pieces in the description (increase torque, increase fuel economy) kinda confuses me. Sounds kinda like the electrical version of the "tornado fuel saver"...I didn't know a small unit like this would do that or I would have gotten it awhile ago. looks just like a capacitor like you'd use for your audio system, just smooths out the bucks and surges in the current, really won't do squat performance-wise, unless your voltage regulator is bad.

That is kinda what I was thinking but I did more searching and came across this. Here is another product like this from a different site. http://www.eautoworks.com/html/ape-auto~performance-Max~Volt~Power~System.htm These things real maybe? I know nothing about electrical systems in the 2GNT...but I'm learning (or trying to) though, slowly.

it's a capacitor. You won't see any benefits, ever. Next.

Ok I know this is just a capacitor, but I need to know if this might fix my problem. It seems that my voltage regulator within the ECU might be going bad. Unfortunately, there is no one around here with a 99 that I could swap their ECU in to test it. My logic behind this is the fact I was running with TPS and IAT throwing high voltage input codes for a good two months, plus my IAT wire connections from when I took out my "performance resistor" back in the day. Tonight, I was sitting at idle, and I noticed my volt meter just died, as my car continued to surge. I replaced the IAT and TPS sensors about 3 weeks ago, and rewired my IAT harness connected (used solder this time rather than wire insulators) today and got rid of that code, but up until today my IAT was pulling too much voltage. Would that possibly stress my regulator to the point it goes bad? Another thing I notice is when I idle roughly my volt meter jumps around in sync with the surges so that kind of makes me wonder. Do you think this capacitor would help smooth out the voltage regulation?

The capacitor won't help the situation, but fortunately you can pick up an external voltage regulator for very little -- no need for a new ECU, altough temporarily swapping ECU's will help confirm your suspicions. if you do find that the ECU is bad, you can purchase a VR733 less than $20 usually. Look here for how to correctly install it:

Thanks for the input. Eventually I'll get ahold of an ECU for testing. Or I may just get the regulator if it's less than $20. It mine is bad, then I should be fine, but if not...oh well. Thanks again.
