Could be your alternator but I'd check your cables first, make sure all your connections are good and solid. make sure the clamps are clean. cut open the actual wire jacketing a few inches and make sure that corrosion hasn't worked its way down into the cables. I've had this happen on several cars. Everything I own has had the pos and neg cables replaced with the exception of my 04 subaru.

Ditto dude. My battery light came on when my alternator belt came off. Needless to say, it'll come on when the battery voltage is low. Probable those shitty battery terminals we got man. Get rid of em now! Come on up, i might have an extra terminal or two!

Is the car a 95? A buddy of mine had a 95 and the battery light was still on after a new alternator new battery and new terminals. Finally we found a thread on here about our cars having an internal voltage regulator in the ecu, so we put my brothers ecu in it because we knew his was good and the battery light was fixed and his car ran fine since. Not saying to go out and buy a new ecu, but just some food for thought, and definitely worth checking IMO.

not a bad thing to check, but I'd still recommend checking the easy stuff first. why? cause it's easier, and if it's right you'll be glad you didn't go through a bunch of hard stuff first
