#116331, "please help, no oil pressure at idle"

i just got my motor back from being rebuilt the second time because they messed it up the first time so i got the motor back in and now i have no oil pressure at idle but goes to normal when revved up. it started this when i accidentyl ran over a parking stopper right before i took my motor out and i have a 4 inch drop so i was teeter tottering on it so im thinking something got damaged but the oil pan is in perfect condition and i checked it for leaks and now there is no leaks but still no oil pressure at idle? i have no idea what this could be but its my only car and i really need it back so someone please help

how do you know for sure you have no oil pressuer? do you have a gauge or a light? If you have a gauge what does it read when you spin the engine up a few rpm's?

I would also suggest maybe going to autozone and picking up a cheap gauge and connect it to a block oil gallery and monitor pressure there.

We do need to know how you are monitoring the oil pressure. It is normal to only have a few pounds of oil pressure at idle.

He did say NO oil pressure at idle, so I would find it very important to know how he is monitoring this. IF the engine is a cold start he should have a pretty high amount of oil pressure. Not none at all.
