Ok guys heres the deal. Running with the 96 Dodge Avenger still and came across something that could be very interesting, supposing it works.
Looking around I found a 1G GSX Eclipse that I can afford. Problem here is that I don't like the way it looks, so can I transplant the entire powertrain into the Avenger? The entire engine bay is the same as the 2G Eclipse, seeing as the car is essentially the RS, having the 420A in it, with the exception that its a 2 door coupe and not a hatch.
Ok so on to the question, will it work? Can I transplant the powertrain into the dodge, and how much work would it be. When answering this keep in mind that I had already intended to change the transmission from auto to manual, so I guess its a question of how much more work would it be? Will everything match up (just assume its an RS 2G Eclipse) or will I need to do some MAJOR modification and fork over a shitload of cash to get it to work?

You are wasting your time. It would take tons of fabrication to do, obviously why you dont see anyone else out there doing it.

What do you mean another one? I just wanted to know about the rear end and the drivetrain running to it, lol.
I looked for that but couldn't find anything on it, and didn't feel like spending two weeks looking through the 70 some odd pages of threads that for the most part seemed to have nothing to do with the information I wanted.
I read lots of post about going from RS to the turbo, but not much pertaining to the AWD aspect of it, but maybe I'm just too impatient and didn't narrow the search enough, although I couldn't think of how to narrow the search any more than I already had, lol

I think that would be sweet, very different AWD Avenger. If you have the cash and have that can Fab. for cheap or if you have relatives that weld, then I'd say go for it, but make sure you have a second car to drive.
I have an imagenary DSM friend on my myspace that goes by the name Sharkcus, he did an AWD SPYDER turbo'd also looks great

there's a giant sticky in the turbo/nitrous section all about this, it's the second thread from the very top of the page.

It's a lot easier to convert a spyder to awd than a car with a 420a
To the OP the point is, it is well beyond the cost of what would make it reasonable unless if you have plenty of experience and can do all the work yourself, there is a ton involved. Usually it ends up costing what it would have for you to have purchased a 2g gsx. On that note, I do believe (don't quote me because I'm not positive) that there are a couple awd avengers out there, but I'm not sure if they started with the 420a or whatever the 6cyl the avenger came with
I contributed to the Wiki! EVO IX - just a really expensive boost gauge and a K&N air filter 96 Eclipse RS -awaiting registration and inspection 95 Eclipse GS - parts car Mods/Profile - http://www.2gnt.com/index.php?d=cs82685

There is an AWD avenger on DSMFTW.
Waste of money imo, avengers aren't that cool.

lol, to each their own. I like the hood of the avenger better than that of the 2G, never really liked the hump and I love the Chrysler crosshairs in the bumper.
Its disappointing to hear that it will cost so damn much, lol, I guess this goal will just have to be put on the backburner for a while then. I don't like putting things on hold but oh well. Instead I'll just build up the 420A like I had originally planned then, and maybe later once I have a much bigger budget, and a different DD, I'll get back to this idea.

There are actually about 5 in existance last i checked and that was 4 years ago. Its a great deal of work and if you need to ask how much money and how much work then you cant afford it and your wise enough to do it.
