I'm hooking up my portfueler, greddy boost controller, and innovate LC-1. They all need switched 12V power. I plan on using a relay pulling power through a 10AWG wire from a distribution box used for powering my amplifiers. (Which pulls its power directly from the battery through its own fused 4AWG wire). The switched power to close the relay I'll pull from the stereo turn-on ACC lead. My question is this, is pulling this power from the amplifier distribution box a good idea. Its the cleanest install without pulling another wire through the firewall to the battery. I'm interested in anybody's thoughts on this. Thanks in advance.

since you already have a stereo in you might think of lookign around for one of these:

its a 12v switcher and delay relay center using a 0/1-4AWG power and ground as its source, also has switched triger leads as well for amps and such
since its all in one place it would be a very clean install and each 12v output has its own LED indicator.

they sold new for quite a bit of money, however they can be had in the sub $150 range

there is also a cheeper one that has less outputs called the TDD5
and can be had for about half as much.

either way you have to look hard as they are kinda rare now a days

That would look pretty slick. I'm searching all over the internet for a power distribution box that will take a 10 AWG wire in and distribute to my electronics. I can't find anything that small. I might just have to get a plain panel from radio shack and jumper it out but I need one that is enclosed. I don't want those terminals exposed inside my car. For something so simple its a real pain in the ass.
