#115289, "Car died and came right back on."

My head unit was cutting off like it had a short in a wire, i figured i could fix it later. When i was driving home doing about 60 in 5th the engine cut off. My head lights stayed on, but my head unit went off as well, then like nothing had happened the engine started right back up. I did not stop or turn the key or anything of that nature. Im kind of thinking the two problems could be related. The only code it it is throwing is the emmitions one that nobody can get rid of, and thats been on there for a month or so. I usaly have some idea of problems that happen with cars but this is very bazaar to me.

Id start looking for shorts or mismatched wires.

Start near the ignition switch... Thats where I would start anyway. Also make sure your grounds and battery cables are tight.

This may be a dumb question I guess. How many grounds are there? I know looking at the engine bay I see wires that are just metal to frame, are theses the wires your talking about?

also you might try your main power fuse. that one thats bolted to the two wires in your fuse box, i had that go out but would make ever so lightly of a connection that i could drive but at times would short out, and the car would die, then start up again. just another suggestion....
