Someone at a pool hall asked me if I changed my spark plugs to the hotter range. He said he uses NGK BKR5 instead of 6. He says it does add a little power. Personally I think there is no such thing as a spark plug that can add power. But I do believe in efficiency. I also read at the 2gnt site about changing to the hotter range. Anyone done this? Should I do this? As long as it won't damage the motor in any way, I'm up for doing it.

It's not going to hurt anything. I ran them for 6+ months before i turbocharged my car. There's quite a few other here than are running them. A spark plug, unless it shatters and ruins your valves, would have an extremely hard time damaging a motor.

Yeah, it won't hurt and theoretically in a n/a engine, a hotter plug should provide a more dynamic spark with a thorough burn. However, to be quite honest, like Dino when I was n/a, I installed that hotter range and really couldn't discern any difference in HP, besides the improvement in responsiveness in your car after every spark plug change.
