#114920, "no power at starter relay when i turn the key"
i recently bought a 97 rs for my gf. when i bought it there was a hole in the side of the block about the size of a softball. so i got an engine out of a 2000 neon, stripped it down to the shortblock, ported and polished and rebuilt the eclipse head, put it together and put it in the car. i was kinda excited to hear it run but when i turned the key there was nothing. i tested the volts goin to the relay on the starter and there wasnt any. i had the clutch pushed in and everything. i did go back and jump the starter with a screwdriver and surprisingly it started right up and sounded great. i shut it off after a few seconds tho because i didnt put the radiator back in yet. anyway does anyone know if there is a relay or a fuse for the starter relay or something i couldnt find. i could simply run a wire to the starter from the ignition switch but it wouldnt have the switch at the clutch to make sure it was in befor trying to start the car. if it was my own i wouldnt mind, thats how my mustang is but for my gf i would like the clutch to have to be in befor she can start it. sorry if this is long but if anyone could help me out let me know, thanks

i figured out what the problem was, there was a dealer installed alarm system on the car that i didnt know about and it wouldnt let me start the car. i had no way of turning the alarm on or off so i just cut it out of the wireing and spliced the wires back together. the car starts right up with the key now
