So last Sunday my alternator goes out. Throughout the course of the week I've been removing belts and brackets and the little stuff here and there. I have the alternator off the brackets and the brackets are off the block itself. Now my problem is how do I get it out of the engine bay. I've already tried to jack the motor up to pull it out, which didn't work, then I tried taking the bolt out of the motor mount and dropping the motor. Which didn't work either.

So my question is. How the hell do I get the alternator out of the car?

you can lower the motor for more clearance. its tough but it will come out just keep playing with it and make sure the bracket is removed from the motor and the alternator.

Take your passenger side tire off. If you look through the wheel well your will see your lower alternator mount. Remove this mount and the alternator will slide out though the wheel well.

well i have all of my brackets off. i've tried to lower the motor to get it out and that didn't work. then i tried raising the motor and that didn't work either. and i still can't get it out through the wheel well.

Than your not lowering the motor enough cause i can get it out without lowering the motor or taking the wheel off its a pita but its possible. it will come out you just need to keep turning it it only comes out one way

yeah i finally got it out i had to jack the motor up pretty high and pull it out through the top. luckily i had attached a zip tie to it to use as a handle. one question though does any one know what size nut should go on the tensioner bolt?
