NICE! EGR pipe strikes again! emoji I bought that shitty, Autozone "Spectre" kit once too. Hoses weren't good for anything other than leaking. If you want the blue hose, search RRE's site for the Larsen Hose Kit. It's quality.

(Engine bay still looks damn nice.)

True that. If you don't have to pass inspections/etc. Remove the EGR, and deal with the CEL. EGR serves two purposes clogging up your IM, and causing your intake charge to be hotter during idle/cruise. F*** the atmosphere. emoji

Damn!!! EGR pipe is a beast; I still wouldn’t take it off tho because I want my good gas mileage, lol. I exhaust rapped mine, haven’t had a problem since. It melted a number of things on the engine harness and my safc line witch left me on the side of the road. Its one of the bastards on my car, a costly bastard that is. Zip ties will become your best friend....

Removal has no affect to gas mileage.

Idk, I noticed my gas mileage start to drop as soon as I took it off, not by much, but by a little. I know it will keep the gunk out of my intake manifold but what else? Don’t have time to fight EGR codes nor mess with the EGR any, not like I’m going to see any gains anyways from it. The question that I always wanted to know was if there is never any hot air coming into the manifold; wouldn’t that affect the ecu's fuel mixture because the IAT sensor never sees hot air from the EGR????

as long as your egr is functioning properly, your gas mileage will drop.

The ecu during cruise will open the EGR to let hot exhaust gas into the motor. Hotter air requires less fuel and due to the NOX thats in the exhaust gas, the cylinder will run at lower temperatures therefore the timing will remain the same with less fuel.

The ECU then reduces the fuel PW to run the motor lean. This is done to increase fuel economy. Same concept on all vehicles

anyone who wants to argue can search the internet
