is changing the headgasket, installing cam gears, and installing the UDP a installation that should be left to the pros. Cause i don't want to spend $400 for labor if i can do if myself. What else should i cahnge if i do it?

wanna learn a thing or 2 and not only be saving money but also having the satisfaction of knowing you did it yourself? Get yourself some shop manuals (which are downloadable here) , Do some online research and have a mechanically inclined freind stop by to help. GO FOR IT DOOD!!

I agree. The online factory service manuals are a must and so is a Chilton's manual ($30 on Amazon.com). I say go for it! Make sure you gather EVERYTHING you need first and make sure you torque everything to specs. Good luck if you do!

Let me know how it goes if you do it. I changed all of my timing stuff myself, but i think i have a head gasket leak, and not looking forward to doing it....

It all depends on how much time you have. If you mess up, or get into trouble you need to have time set aside to get it all worked out. Doing it yourself is possible but because you haven't done it before be prepared for a lot of hard work and be patient.
You have to take off out the cams to get the head off. So, like you are planning put on gears, gasket, t-belt, water pump, udp. Also remember you have to take off the engine mounts to get the belt and the udp off. You will also need at least a 5 ton three clawed gear puller, a jack to lift and lower the engine.
Doing all that work is going to take time. You鈥檙e probably looking at two or three days if you are doing it for the first time.
