hello all,

I have no clue what is going on with my eclipse but lets see what you guys thing. I am having a hard time getting the car to start lately, like if i put the key in and clutch down nothing happens it doesn't even try to turn over. But if I hook another car too the battery and jump it, everything starts up just right. According to Autozone, the batterie is just fine and it holds the approperate charge. Also when i came out from work and the car was dead so I moved some wires cause i thought maybe the alarm was stoppin it from try to turn over and the car started right up. So do i have a loose batterie connection or something. Thanks for the help.

Sounds like you're thinking is on track. Start by checking your grounds, especially at the battery. I had the same problem, and it ended up being that my battery connection wasn't tight because the terminal bolt was stripped. Every time I would jump it, I would connect the black cable to the frame grounding bolt, which would take my battery out of the loop, so I didn't realize the connection was bad. Good place to start.

The grounding didn't work. Does anyone know the color of the wire or the location of the wire coming out of the computer under the hood that controls the clutch/start item.. Ya have no clue what it is called but is there a way to disengauge it that way I can check and see if that is the problem. thanks

If my alarm isnt disabled my car wont start it wont even turn over. No alarm sounds due to there being no horn for the alarm but I dont know what your case is.

On one of my cars, the shim was missing on one of the terminal connections, and occasionally I encountered the same problem. Clean the posts on the battery and the wore connections, and make sure you have good connections.
