alright, i pretty sure a 3g engine (i dont know names of them) wont drop right into a 2g car. how much of modifcations would you need to do it?

ive got one jus sitting here and i was wondering if it was even possible? i dont know shit about the 3gs.... and if not, how much would a 3g engine go for? czu if not i could jus sell it and get the grip to buy an engine (420a) for my talon.

thanx comments and suggestions please!

Uhm....a shit tone of work, new tranny, new everything.....basically the same concept as putting a 4g63 engine in....don't bother.

I've seen it done before and it looks fuckin awesome though.

Dude, put it on ebay and get a grand or so and just rebuild the engine you've got! Hell rebuild it and get it ready for a turbo emoji

If it's the 3.0 V6 then you have a chance of getting it in.

This is the 2.5 from the Avenger, but according to the ASOG guys the exterior mounting points are the same for the 2.5 and 3.0:

If it's the 4G64, just sell it.

ERT is now doing 3.5L swaps in Avengers. They have a little more engine bay room, so there mayb e some clearance issues with us... but yes it is no small job.

Just a little twist to this thread.

Anyone look closely at the EVO VIII motor and trans?

The mounting points are in the same place as well as the heater core lines.

Can someone say EVO powered 2g emoji

I'd still stick with my 420a tho emoji

bwahahah, nice one.

I don't see why everyone always wants to swap motor's. Honestly I think the only motor worth swapping in our cars would be the 2.4L 420a block.

We should have had the 2.4L motor stock for our cars heavy ghetto ass.

Having Problems? Heres my Three step solution to anything 2gnt related.
Step 1: Put down everything in your hands.
Step 2: Grab a lucky strike, Smoke it.
Step 3: Walk to the fridge, double fist some keystone ice, sit down in the shade, drink one beer, finish cigarette, drink other beer, roll a joint, smoke it, walk back to your problem, and in about 5 minutes the solution will come to you.
If not. Go here: here

If still nothing, your trying to hard. Start over at step 1.

There's only 2 knowned 3.5L swap so far, Robert and Swede, both swaps were performed by Robert and they were very labor intensive compared to swapping the 3.0L
he used Diamante engines, since the car is RWD the engine doesn't share enought common mounthing points with the FWD 3.0L

according to v6 owners the extra time and cost is not worth the very small power gain over the 3.0L swap, the 3.5 is under breathing and would need a better intake and cams to release the full potential

and yes Avenger and Sebring have more room, 2 inch more actually, between the engine and radiator

Alain
