#112140, "Car won't idle when the clutch is pushed in"

My car is a 95 mitsubishi eclipse rs with 5 speed. I drove it to school today and had no problems. Then I tried to leave for lunch and my battery was dead because I left the lights on. I found someone to help me jump it and I took of. As soon as I got to a stop light I pushed the clutch in and it died. I started it back up and kept the rpms up to stop it from dieing.(The battery was already charged) Now whenever I push the clutch in it won't idle although it will idle in neutral with the clutch not engaged. I have searched all over the website, but I have not found any info. Any would be appriciated.

You mean that, if you have the car in neutral, start it, and have it idling right along, simply pushing the clutch pedal to the floor results in the engine dying?

Man, that's weird.

Could it be that somewhere along the clutch line a strap (or whatever holds the line in place) loosen up and is "moving around" when you have your foot down and such thing is prob pulling on a vacum line or something like that. just giving some food for thought hopefully you figure it out, let us know.

I think it must have something to do with the battery because the next time I drove it I didn't have any problems and I haven't had any problems since. Next time I'll remember to turn the lights off lol. Thanks for the help.
