97 RS I usually shift between 3 & 4 grand. Today I just felt like winding it up a bit. In 1st and 2nd gear between 4400 or 4500 there was a quick momentary power loss. I believe it's electrical because my CEL would flash off then back on right when I was feeling the loss. I proceeded to 6 grand with no problem. I did this 4 times in a row. Then, when I got closer to home, I attempted to do it again and it drove right through the 44/4500 range without a skip. Any ideas? Thanks again............Paul

Hey, I meant to ask something else. I see "voltage stabilizers" on Ebay for Eclipses quite often. Do these cars have specific electrical problems and are they a good precautionary type unit to have?

A flashing CEL means there is an active misfire. Check your codes, it should tell you which cylinder misfired. Then check your plugs/wires, and you could also have a coil on the way out.

Thank JJ! I really appreciate that. I just got this car basically and only have new plugs. I was going to do the wires and coil pack anyways so I'll just replace them and give it a shot. Anyone have an opinion between the MSD(?)(I think thats it-orange/red one) and a factory one? Thanks. Paul
