I don't know about that, but I would stick with Crower's on the springs. Crane's have been known to break, where Crower's don't seem to.

I get my Crower's from here;

http://www.raceeng.com/p-7072-valve-springmitsu-4g63.aspx

Don't worry about the 4g63, they work on the 420a.

Which brings me to the next point of using stocker 4g63's. I never found the comparison strengths on our's vs the 4g63. But I figured that they would be stronger, so I used them on my current turbo build, lol.

Oh very cool!

Didnt even know they would work!

Im getting the head done in a month, and Crower 2's are down the road next year when I do the block, but headgaskets dont like to wait emoji

Figured I would put those in while the head is out!

Thanks alot Bullett!

However, for search purposes, according to Cranes website they do not make DOHC springs anymore.

Come to think about it, I have heard this several times from the Neon camp.

does this apply to using their dual spring setup for a high RPM engine?
or is this only for singles?

do you know if the max lift or spring bind height changes with the 4G spring setup?

I believe the problem would be in the retainers for the springs. They are made to accept the 4g63 keepers which are different than the 420a. You would have to contact Crower for that verification.

When I was looking into using these, I was trying to find info on the stock springs (in comparison to our stock springs), but came up empty. Wasn't too important so I stopped looking and just put the stock 4g63's on my head (I knew that they are able to take more lift and power - not that power means that much in spring strength etc. - than ours so I used them. Plus they are made to shut against boost pressures). I am running a stock cam right now and that should be changing to a Crower 2 NA cam with the same stock springs. I like to put my money (or springs in this case) where my mouth is.

Oh yeah stock 1g cams lift 252/248. Stock 420a cams lift....crap I don't remember, lol.

Same. Never had any problems with my Crane Springs and Ti Retainers. Running +1mm SS valves, stock cams, and raised the rev. limiter with Megasquirt. Have about 10,000 miles on that config. with no issues.

As you read in the link I posted, the issue isn't that Crane are crap and Crower is the king. Its that Crane's have been known to fail and you will be hard pressed to find failing Crower's.

So, no worries, just observations.
