I am in the middle of rebuilding my 97 non-turbo Talon and the process is going very slow do to me getting a new job and moving many hours away. Well to make a long story short my garage flooded with out my knowedge so weeks later I found my cams rusted beyond my repair. My question is can I use any other camshaft besides non-turbo Talon/Eclipse 420a? I have read somewhere before that 1G camshafts can be an upgrade but you just have to tap the intake cam 8mm X 1.25 to make them work on a 2Gs cam angle sensor. Is this true? Does that just apply to turbo motors? I have a 92 Eclipse non-turbo to my disposal if needed. And lastly where would be some good places to find used camshafts besides ebay and junk yards(which want to sell me a whole motor).

Thanks for the help I wouldn't have made it this far with out your guys help already.

Nope. Sorry. Even the neon cams are not useable on our platform as they are reversed.
Stock cams can be had for pretty cheap if you check the FS/WTB forum frequently. Or upgrade into a Crower/Crane cam, but even then if you research the cam thread the cost vs. benefit value isn't there unless you are looking at an extreme setup.
