I have had my 95 RS not running for more than 6 months, due to some major repairs/replacements. Got everything necessary done now, had the inspection (seemed to be allright) but I noticed that the car is consuming a lot. I have never seen the fuel-gauge moving so quick with so less miles. It runs roughly about 15 miles a gallon.
What could be the case? I have a CEL 32 (EGR problem), luckily after the inspection, but can this cause this high fuel consumption? I do not smell any fuel (so guess the fuel lines are ok).

You may just have some iffy gas. Also check for leaks.
Test the coolant temp sensor. Could be the O2. Mine wasnt throwing a code, and I was still getting decent gas mileage, but I had to replace it and I get better mileade now.
Something to try!
Id run through that tank and see what happens next.
AFAIK EGR wont affect gas mileage, mine doesnt work and I get at least 32mpg city.

Coolant sensor? You mean could point out too cool, so car runs in cold startup too long. What way can I test it, what specs should it have, when I want to check it?

Thanks man! Sure helps. I remembered I replaced a sensor 2 years ago with replacing my radiator, but guess that was another sensor (probably for the temp gauge). This one is the one under the thermostat housing, right?
Also I read about upper 02 sensor might be bad, although no CEL. Would that cause these problems likely?
p.s. are the replacement ones (CTS and O2) they sell from autopartswarehouse.com or autozone any good?
