Ok i got a 1998 eclipse gs with a a/t transmission.. Its a daily driver i just bought a 1997 gsx and will leave that project sit until i'm done doing what i want to do to my daily driver..
Ok the motor has 68,000 miles on it runs good but the exhaust is pretty bad.. I hear a belt that squeeks too some times. Ok here is my goal.. I want to do a good tune up and make sure the thing is reliable but also get up to 140whp AND run a big stero system.. I got a list of things here, so tell me if it worth it or not, and what you think i should spent my money on.. All parts will be put on at a shop. So tell me how much labor is required with the total set-up too.. I'll give this thread 1 week and buy whatever you guys recommend.. Cam gears if you can tune or want to pay somebody to tune them just right you can squeeze a couple hp out here. You're better off getting cams and hanging onto the stock cam gears IMO.

Port and polish and a valve job will net you some gains.
Keep in mind labor for this stuff is going to be very costly and IMO not worth it. A headgasket change is in the neighborhood of $1K. (gotta pull the head to port/polish) Plus the actual cost of the headwork. If you can't do any of this work yourself, you're going to spend more than the car is worth to have a car that's still much slower than your gsx and if you were to take the same money and put it into the GSX you'll be far beyond what the 420a would be with the mods you've listed

Yeah i guess i will stick to simple stuff that worth it and if i am going to do that I can get the labor pretty cheap if it basic stuff.. Now the GSX i am willing to through over 12k so i will go all out their! thanx for the advise.. If its good enough for the top NA builder it good enough for me.. E-bay here i come.

UDP will do you right, but I'm not sure how well it would work with the alternator and current requirements of the project. On one hand, you have actual engine performance while you have superficial, high school car audio nonsense on the other. Your goals sort of work against each other.
Consider a decent tune up on the NT (it's an automatic, anyway, and will never be really fast without a turbo, unfortunately) and maybe installing a simpler sound system to get you by day-to-day. Then invest more into the GSX, which can be made exponentially more powerful for the same budget. (Translation: It will be easier to make enough power with the engine to haul all that dead weight audio nonsense around without feeling like an underpowered slug.)
