#10968, "car keeps dying need help PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Well when I push in the clutch to come to a stop the car just dies,
sometimes when I throw it in neutral as I come to a stop it will bogg way down but doesn't completly die.
When I am sitting and out of gear it stays running fine it is only when I am comming to a stop and push in the clutch.
What could it be????

I have cleaned the intake and TB, changed wires to msd, and also changed the TPS.

I am getting code 21 which has something to do with the 02 sensor.

I need help quick it has been doing this all week and I can't drive it.

oh yeah and when I start the car the clutch makes a real loud nasty sound, like TING,TING, TING, TING,
sound like metals hitting real fast.

The clutch also makes a noise when you push it in after I start it

Replace the O2 sensor. Chances are that's your problem: excessivly rich condition die to lack of O2 sensor input to the ECU.

When you say a rich condition what do you mean?
My A/F gauge stays in the middle at idle and very lean at WOT.
What do you think about the clutch is it bad??

Means you have a leak somewhere.. usually it's the slave cylinder that starts to go.

If it's dying a lot and you're getting a code 21, your front O2 sensor is bad.. So at that point it matters not what your AF gauge says, because that's the sensor it reads and it sounds like it's bad. Do you get any black smoke? Boggish/power lacking takeoffs?

Yeah I figured that. So it is the front one and not the one after the cat??

But no black smkoke and yeah it is real boggish and slow at take offs and after I change into a diff gear.

Where can I get a new one? and how much

I bought one from autozone and the harness was diff so I took it back..
Is there one I could buy besides one from the dealer that would work???

Uhh.. yeah.

Any "univeral" O2 sensor would work. ther wires are the same: one black (ground) one gray (signal) and two white (non polar heater) .. so any standard O2 sensor will work.

So all I would have to do is cut the harness of of mine and the new sensor and just put those wires together?

I have a code 21 for 02 sensor, nothing is wrong with my car. My 02 sensor isnt just bad, ITS DEAD. Nothing goes wrong tho.

You could have bad wires. I remember my car died when my plug wires were bad and their charge was zapping thru the cover to the hood before it got to the spark plug...... THats my experiance.
