Ok guys, I am getting an oil light flicker at idle, tap the throttle it goes away. I don't think it is a bad pump because its only got 15k on the engine since the rebuild. I did just put a turbo on since then have noticed that it does this sometimes. I don't have an oil pressure gauge at themoment but I will get one very soon to see whats up. I did an oil change when put the turbo on but I used the same oil that came out of it. Any ideas?
*Update* I noticed earlier on the way home the light doesn't start to flicker at idle untill the car heats up. At start up it idles fine with no oil light. I bought some 10-40 weight oil on the way home because I am using Motul 5-30 now. Do you guys think that could be the cause.

I certainly don't want to wish this on you but when I rebuilt my engine I had a hairline crack in my oil feed tube that was causing issues.

I have been running this engine for about 15k and haven't had a problem out of it. It just started since I put the turbo on.

I actually had the same problem, it scared the hell outta me. It started as a flicker at idle, then it came on more and more. It ended up being the wires going to the OPSU, they were both freyed and shorting out on eachother. I soldered everything up and taped them, light hasn't been on while driving since. So if I were you I would definately check the connection to the sensor before thinking about a rebuild.

I have seen that happen before, I've fixed it on a friends 420a. I with a loose wire I just don't see why it would only do it at idle after the car is warmed up. I will check it though as I don't want to rebuild again. I just got finished putting all the goodies in it that I want except for a forged crank. I am thinking the oil may be too thin once the car warms up causing the drop in pressure. My intake manifold gasket blew causing the car to only want to stay a 4k rpm's so once I swap that out I am going to just take out the factory OPSU and put in a gauge to see what happens. Any other ideas?

Ok just checked oil pressure, at first start up its about 20 psi, as it warms up it starts to drop to 15 psi. With that being said I am draing the oil and putting the correct mopar filter on. While draing the oil I did notice that it was VERY thin so maybe thickness has something to do with it. After I get the filter here and put on I will check the pressure again and go from there!

Ok, I blocked off the turbo oil feed and pressure comes up. The turbo is not burning oil or anything but it does have an extreme amount of shaft play. Its a Hahn S16g, Have you guys seen this before? I am plan on getting it rebuilt but with 20g internals this coming week. Any Idea why its doing this?

If it is buring oil its not noticable but then again I haven't driven it much because of all this. I am going to get the turbo rebuilt and go from there. I have just never heard or seen low oil pressure because of a bad turbo.

Depending on ths size of your oil feed, you might want to consider an oil restrictor before the turbo as well.

Swapped turbo out, still had oil light, made a custom oil restrictor out of an old nitrous jet, works like a charm. Thanks guys!
