Hey guys, I just registered here but I've been reading and visiting the boards for quite some time. I have a '95 talon ESi pretty much completely stock but I am thinking of getting a turbo kit this summer. Which one would you guys suggest? I can't decide between Hahn or Star... There is also that NER kit but I dont know if it will be available. My car just hit 100k as well so would it be smart to buy one of the rebuilt kits from howell and rebuild at the same time? I'm also pretty interested in the whole stroker kit thing... Anybody have an idea when this will be available. Also what compression would you recommend I run at?? (So many questions I know) I was reading the great discussion down there about running super high compression with a turbo and I dont know what to make of it. I live in Colorado so the HIGHEST octane gas I can get conveniently is 93, and most of the time 91 (rediculous!!) so I wouldn't want to damage anything... Just asking your opinions because I have lots of time to plan this out, so I want to do it right! Let me know what you guys think.

hey man..
i cant answer all your questions because i dont want to give bad advice..
but someone said that high comp in our cars is not worth it becasue we cant rev high enough.. so running lower comp and lots of boost would be much better
we have a strong bottom end but since your at 100k i mean why not.. its better to be safe then sorry..
and teh stroke kit.. i really dont know much about have you read the post on it.. more tourqe is always nice
I love dino and 2gnt. ####ers (my word) bliz stole it but i let him borrow it

Hey man thanks for the advice. I haven't had any problems with the car yet despite the 100k but I think I might get the stroker anyway. The only thing that worries me is how the car will handle on the ice with all that low end... Hard telling Well the great thing about DSM is that there's so many options, and this board is great for figuring out what works and what doesnt so it should be pretty easy to figure it out by summer!

Do a compression test, and a leakdown test. If both come up okay, turbo away. If one indicates a problem, then tart thinking about the rebuild kit, or the stroker kit..
As for which kit to buy.. do a search. That subject has been debated so many times as to be a subject to avoid.. Go find out why

A leakdown test pressurizes the combustion chamber externally, as in hooking it to a compressor of sorts.. I don't know specifics (never done one) but it can tell you whether it is rings, valve seats, seals, headgasket, depending on where the air is leaking from. Accurate.. moreso than a compression test.
