Sorry if this question has been asked but I searched around. anyways is the 98 eclipse non turbo motor the same as the 97 non turbo motor it really looks like the intake is on the front on the 98 motor I can get one with 15,000 miles on it with a new head but I dont think its going to work. I am looking for a response asap this guy needs to know if I want the engine he only wants 400 bucks for it.

if it looks like the intake is on the front, then you *Might* be looking at a Neon engine, which will NOT work in our car lol
so just be careful in comparing the engines

Unless you go out and buy a Neon, the motor will do you no good. I'm guessing he saying he has a 420a motor for sale. The Neon motors are also called 420a motors but they have a different design for the head.

Won't work.
