ok, so my uncle's gonna help me swap my motor as soon as I get the gaskets I need. In the meantime, I wanna clean up the new motor and put a fresh coat of paint on the block.

The motor has been sittin on a crate since I brought it home, but I wannna put it on a stand so I can mount the oil pan before I paint it. The problem is that I can't figure out where to put the chain hooks for the hoist on the block. I know I could just paint the block and the oil pan seperate, but if I can't figure it out now I'm gonna have a problem when I go to pull the old motor.

I know I'm probably just overlooking something simple, but I just don't see it and I don't wanna chance breakin anything as it took me a long time to get a motor in the first place. 420a's are super rare around here, I called every junkyard in the state before I bought this one and the closest I came to finding one was finding a guy that said he could get one in two or three weeks if i already had the money.

It's not my first motor swap, but I'm used to chevy's that usually have a bracket with a big loop stickin out somewhere. This is just the head and block and I don't see anything to latch onto.

Don't use the hooks on the chain. Screw bolts through the chain into the head on the intake side and exhaust sides

My dad suggested this after I posted, but I wanted to make sure there wasn't already a spot for it.

Also, there are normally two steel lifting brackets bolted to the engine for this purpose. Whoever sold you the engine probably trashed the brackets when they removed the intake and exhaust manifolds.
