Well, thanks to my AEM CAI(without a bypass valve) i have blown my second motor. This time instead of just bending a rod, i sent it through the block with some shrapnel that pulverized the pan. Im not very happy now, but my next rebuild will be without a CAI.

My personal prefrence is to use the short ram and have a feed hose coming up from the front bumper area for cooler air at speed.

Well, to be honest, the car is remarkably reliable. I've had 2 motors in it, and they were both blown from sucking up water through a CAI. In fact, it seemed that the harder i beat the shit out of it, the better it ran. But besides, the runins with CAI, the car has never given me promblems.

What's crazy is I had a cold air intake on my car for several years before going turbo, with no bypass valve, and I beat my car, and it never gave me a single problem. Even the one winter I drove it, it was caked with slush, still no problems. I can't believe how much I beat this engine and how well it has held up. I even ran 17 psi on the stock motor, and then hooked up the waste-gate right to limit it to 5 psi, and it still ran. Yeah, I had extreme blow-by, but it still ran with no strange noises. Even ran it low on oil (nothing on dipstick) several times, still ran good. Finally yanked it lastnight, time for forged internals Wooo Hooo!
