Hey so this is my first time posting on this Forum, you guys are awesome as far as every other question I've had. I've only been restoring my car so far. I have a 1998 GS, it has 170K and I had the Trans Re-Built and had a newer Engine put in with roughly 20K Miles on it. It runs great now. I also have a Magnaflow Cat-Back Exhaust and it sounds good, but I'm just not diggin' the look of the Muffler. I want an Apexi N1, and I see they make a Universal in two different sizes.. 60mm for N/A and 80 for Turbo'd cars. First off.. Can I use that muffler? And second.. If so, can I use to 80mm also? Thanks a lot.

A. yes you can use the N1 muffler just cut the old one and weld in the new
B. the 80mm really wont help unless the whole exhaust is 80mm and you are turbo'ed. if your gonna go turbo in the near future and are planning on fabing an 80mm turbo back then id get the larger so you dont have to rebuy a larger muffler later.
also note: the 80mm will require an adapter to fit to the old pipe, but a good mufler shop should be able to do this no prob

You may not like the look, but I highly doubt you're going to see any significant gain in performance. It really is a personal situation here, from my point of view I can't justify the cost for the 'look'.

Depending on your plans with the car it might just be a good idea to deal with what you have for now and when the time comes for a whole new exhaust go for it then.

The change to the Apexi will be totally based on looks. I'm looking into turbo'ing the car, but if I choose to, it won't be for quite some time. I'm leaning more towards a Master Performance Kit from Howell.
