#107916, "Breeze Head?"

I have done some searching on here as well as on the internet in general, but I can't seem to find the answer.

Is the Plymoth Breeze head like the Neon, or will it work on a 420a in a 97 Talon?

same as the neon bud... the only heads we can use are the eclipse, talon, or 2.0 avenger.

Got it, thanks man. I wouldn't have thought it would be such a difficult task to find a damn head for this engine. I keep getting dead end leads while my car is stranded 5 hours away in Toronto!!!!

I hope a few places will call me back today with good news. I just hate the fact that most of these places what to charge $275 for a head "MAY" need new valves and at ~$16 per valve multiply that by 16( to error on the safe side ) = $256 +$18 tax then the head gasket kit $150 and timing belt kit with pullies $150. That roughly comes to $850 just in parts to put this car back together.

Looks like I may have found an entire engine out of a 97 avenger $400 is what I offered the guy on the phone. I am going to look at it tonight. So a 97 Avenger to a 97 Talon. just a straight up swap, eh? Just change over wiring harness and sensors, no?

plug and play. may not even have to swap sensors if you're really lucky and they're still on the new engine

Nevermind. I am still searching. The guy sold it out from onder me. He said that he'd be home tonight at 6:30 for me to come look at it and pick it up. then he e-mailed me to tell me that someone showed up and gave his girlfriend the money for the car. I am f'ed once again. I give up!

The guy did actually end up calling me a little later on and fully explained the situation and apologized to me about it. As it turns out he got off the phone with me and called his girlfriend to edit the ad when she greated him on the other side of the phone saying "hey someone just came over and left a deposit for the car"

So in his defense he had no idea that the person had shown up when he made that deal with me. He did say that it sucks because I offered him $400 for the engine and he was only asking for $600 for the car and engine. He said I could have made out really well on the deal, and I screwed you over so I am really sorry man, but if it falls through I will give you a call.

Happened to me about a month ago.

Add stated "20 bucks, 420a engine, thrown rod, get this out of my garage!" I talked to him and told him i'd come and get it that day.

F-er never got back to me and replied with an "i'm sorry, sold it" a few days later. I was so pissed.

Local parts store. I am not in a position that I could wait for parts to be delivered. I have to be in toronto with the parts this weekend to get my car back on the road.

I did however pick up a head in good condition for $150 tonight. No bent valves, cams included. I had to go get my valve spring compressor from my buddy tonight and I will take the heads into work tomorrow and tear them down on my lunch and hot tank the head, measure the guides check the valves, magnifulx the head and then grind the valves and seats. I should be in pretty good shape.

As for the parts I am sure I will be flamed to hell and back for this, but...... I ordered the gasket kit(with bolts) from ebay as well as the timing belt kit. Which includes both idlers and a new waterpump. Basically it's going to cost me about $180 for all of that with 1 day express shipping
